Animal Intrusion
Possums and rats will commonly reside in roof cavities if allowed. Care must be taken to ensure that possums in particular cannot access your roof space. If you do have possums in your roof, we can advise you on how best to remove them, or advise and assistance can be sought from your local council or a commercial pest controller.
Once the possums have been removed from your roof space, we can restore the roof cavity to ensure a healthy living environment for you and your family. Long term possum intrusion can severely damage a roof cavity to the extent that plaster will need to be replaced and even wooden supports which are severely contaminated. Often, insurance companies will accept claims for possum intrusion, but check with your insurance company for more details - before you get possums in your roof!
Rats also reside in warm roof cavities and, whilst easier to control and remove, they can be almost as much of a pest as a possum (or worse a possum family) free in your roof space. Ask us for more details.
