Xtreme Cleaning
The ultimate in roof cavity cleaning, we offer our 'Xtreme' service because some householders require an almost sterile roof space, either for health issues or prior to lining the space. It involves the almost total removal of all dust and cobwebs from all roof surfaces, joists, beams and rafters. It generally extends to the removal of all insulation and debris as well. Generally, roof cavity cleaning will remove most dust from a roof cavity, but certainly not all. This is because the only way to get it all out is to use powerful compressed air after vacuuming to get dust out of all crevisses. Our 'Xtreme' service will remove all visible dust from your cavity and leave it in as pristine condition as is possible.
This is how our Xtreme Cleaning services is undertaken:
i) First, we vacuum the roof cavity, joists and rafters and then remove any insulation present, vacuuming up dust found underneath the insulation. We also remove all debris found in the space and can also (for an additional fee0 dismantle and remove old water tanks often found in older houses.
ii) Next, we penetrate the roof in two places, at either end of the cavity. Large vacuum hoses are attached to the roof and inside the roof space, a powerful in line fan is attached to the vacuum hoses which draws the air from the roof space to our vehicle.
iii) The man hole is then sealed off and then the entire roof cavity, rafters, joist and underside of all tiles is cleaned with an extremely powerful compressor operating at over 200 psi. The air and dust is drawn from the roof space by the fan attached to the ducting and expelled back to our vehicle. After we have cleaned the space with our compressors, the fan is left running so that airborne particles continue to be removed form the indoor atmosphere. Once testing with our particulate hand held monitor demonstrates that the airborne particulate level is as low or lower than before we started, the system is shut down and the job is complete.
